AQUATICS CAMP INFORMATION

Stay cool this summer at one of LMU's exhilarating aquatics camps. Under the direction of our excellent Division I aquatics staff, and student-athletes from our water polo and women's swim teams, campers will make a big splash in our beautiful Olympic sized swimming pool. We have three exciting programs to offer.

COED SWIM
Campers will develop proficiency in all basic swim strokes. Instruction will be given on the fundamental skills of swimming and developing the importance of physical activity through swimming. Camp will focus on technique, conditioning, endurance training, and speed.

WATER POLO
Campers will be instructed on the basic fundamentals of water polo. This includes skill development, conditioning, ball handling, terminology, and game strategy. Water polo emphasis will be on the importance of team work as well as to develop a greater understanding of the game. This camp is designed for the proficient swimmer ages 10-14.

Eligibility for coed swim and water polo: Campers will need to be "water safe" and proficient swimming the width of the pool; front crawl, face in the water, without stopping or assistance.

ADVANCED SWIM CAMP Under the direction of Head Swimming Coach, Bonnie Adair, this camp will focus on elite level swimming technique and training methods. Swimmers will be trained in group workouts to improve endurance and skill level. Each swimmer will also be individually videotaped above and below the surface for analysis and improvement of strokes. Starts and turns will also be emphasized.

Eligibility for advanced swim: open to boys and girls, ages 11-14. must have previous swim team experience, (us swimming, ymca or high school). swimmers must be proficient in at least 3 of the 4 competitive strokes.
