LOS ANGELES - Loyola Marymount University's aquatic programs will dedicate the new Mane Deck at the Burns Aquatic Center Saturday, January 20th. The celebration, entitled "Mane Deck: Honoring Past, Present, and Future LMU Aquatic Champions," will begin at 10:00 a.m. and is part of a larger weekend celebrating athletics excellence at LMU.

The ceremony will dedicate the new Mane Deck, located at the northwest corner of Burns Aquatic Center. Mane Deck is one feature of the recent facility upgrades that included a grass picnic and barbeque area.

The dedication will honor men's and women's water polo All-Americans, conference players and swimmers of the year, NCAA national qualifiers, and swimming conference individual champions.

It is the beginning of a busy day at the Burns Aquatic Center pool, with LMU swimming taking on rival Pepperdine in dual action following the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Following the swimming dual, women's water polo will host its alumnae game.

The aquatic events are also part of a larger weekend celebrating LMU Athletics. The LMU Athletics Hall of Fame will induct its 2007 class Friday evening. Those inductees will then be recognized during halftime of the men's basketball game against Pepperdine on Saturday. Women's basketball hosts the Waves first, with tip-off at 4:30 p.m., followed by the men's 7:30 p.m. start. The baseball program will hold its pre-season mass, brunch, and alumni game on Sunday, January 21st.

The Mane Deck dedication beings at 10:00 a.m. and features a continental brunch.
