LOS ANGELES - This coming week in West Coast Conference action, both the LMU men’s and women’s basketball teams will play a single home game, and the action in Gersten Pavilion will be dedicated to the fight against cancer.

The action begins on Thursday, Jan. 26 when men’s basketball hosts Pacific at 7 pm. The game is the Coaches Vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers game. The coaching staffs of both teams will wear sneakers with their suits in support of the fight against cancer, with fundraising efforts taking place to support the American Cancer Society.

Fans can donate during the game with computer stations located in the lobby. During the game, the official student group of the LMU Lions, THE CAGE, will donate $50 for every three-pointer the Lions hit in the game against Pacific. The game is also Greek Org night. Come out and support the Greeks as they battle during timeouts and halftime in special contests, with cash prizes going towards the American Cancer Society.

On Saturday, Jan. 28, LMU women’s basketball will host BYU at 2 pm. The game will feature a raffle for a Dave and Buster’s Big Game Party. Tickets are $1 with a pack of five going for $3. Proceeds go to the Kay Yow Foundation, which raises funds in the fight against Breast Cancer. The winner will get a 10-person party at Dave & Buster’s on Sunday, February 5 to watch the big football game. The package will include appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks, 10 $25 game cards and raffle tickets for Dave & Busters prizes.

In addition, the game is the Kickoff for Catholic Schools Week at LMU Women’s Basketball. The Catholic Schools Week is Jan. 28 through Feb. 3 and features free admission for kids 7th grade and younger. A Lions Den complete with cupcakes, snacks, and games will be a part of the action for Little Lions Club members in celebration of January birthdays.
