Lions Name February Student-Athletes of the Month
Men's tennis Tigran Martirosyan and softball's Danielle Kaminaka earn monthly honor.

Los Angeles, CA (Mar. 20, 2003) -- Loyola Marymount University has named Danielle Kaminaka the female student-athlete of the month and Tigran Martirosyan of men's tennis as the male student-athlete of the month for sports during competition in the month of February.
Each month during the academic calendar, the student-athlete advisory committee (S.A.A.C.) will chose a male and female student-athlete of the month whose performance best represents the traditions of Loyola Marymount University.
The sophomore Kaminaka was named the Pacific Coast Softball Conference Player of the Week in the final week of February. For the month of February she hit .356, going 16-for-45 from the plate. She led the team with three home runs on the month, earning six RBI in the process. In addition, she scored nine times. The infielder also had 20 putouts, 39 assists and just one error in the field.
Fellow sophomore Martirosyan posted three big wins during February, including victories over ranked opponents No. 55 Carlos Palencia of UC Santa Barbara (6-1,7-6) on Feb. 1 and Hector Almada of Fresno State (6-1,3-6,10-8) on Feb. 22. Martirosyan also downed Arizona State's Clinton Letcher (6-7, 6-1, 6-3) on Feb. 8. Martirosyan only losses were three-set affairs to Pepperdine's Diego Acuna and Malino Oda of Hawaii.
