LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- All Lions fans are invited to join LMU Athletics for the 2010 LMU Golf Classic and Dinner Auction, benefiting the student-athletes of Loyola Marymount University, held Friday, May 14 at Pacific Palms Resort. Entering its 17th year in 2010, the LMU Golf Classic and Dinner Auction has become one of the premier events on the Loyola Marymount University calendar and an annual showcase for all of LMU Athletics.

This year the LMU Golf Classic is looking to set a new all-time tournament record with 240 total players. To help make this possible, we are extending our early bird discounted pricing rates all the way to the final registration deadline on Friday, April 23! Space is still available and help us reach this new record to fill both courses for an all-LMU event. Registration is available online at www.lmu.edu/golfclassic.

This will be the second consecutive year the tournament will be held at the beautiful Pacific Palms Resort. Just last month, Pacific Palms Resort was named the 2010 National Golf Course of the Year by the National Golf Course Owners Association.

Centrally located in Industry Hills, Pacific Palms has recently completed a $60 million renovation featuring two 4-Star rated championship golf courses, a full service luxury spa, upscale restaurants, and 292 guest rooms. The Eisenhower and Zaharias Championship courses are host annually to the PGA US Open qualifier and ranked #1 by Golf Digest in their Best Places to Play in LA and Orange Counties.

With the move to Pacific Palms in 2009, the LMU Golf Classic was able to move to a Friday date to make for the start of a great weekend. As another improvement from previous years, there are no cart restrictions on the course.

Registration in the event includes all golfing and cart fees, player tee prize package, and the evening awards and dinner. More information about this year's tee prizes, silent and live auction items, and much more can be found on the tournament website at www.lmu.edu/golfclassic.

2010 Event schedule:
· 9:30 a.m. Registration and Check-in, Driving Range and Putting Contest, Continental Breakfast
· 11 a.m. Tournament Shotgun Start Including Course Contests and Lunch
· 5 p.m. Cocktails and Silent Auction, Dinner and Golf Awards
