Los Angeles, CA (July 2, 2002)-- The West Coast Conference released its inaugural Commissioner's Honor Roll, which recognizes those student-athletes that possess at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The Loyola Marymount University athletic department placed 85 student-athletes on the first honor roll.

Seven hundred and eighteen student-athletes, who participated in one of the WCC's 13 sponsored sports, were honored from the league's eight institutions. The honor role was divided into three separate designations:
1) 4.00 - 3.75 - Gold Honors
2) 3.74 - 3.50 - Silver Honors
3) 3.49 - 3.00 - Bronze Honors

The Lions had 12 student-athletes earn Gold Honors. Making the gold list was Natalie Costanzo (W. Crew), Jennifer Griffin (W. Crew), Laura Gustorf (Volleyball), Jennifer Henry (W. Basketball), Daniel Judnick (M. Cross Country), Shaun Kalnasy (M. Soccer), Jeff Kovar (M. Soccer), Charlotte Livingstone (W. Crew), Caitlin McCalain (W. Crew), Kate Murray (W. Basketball), Amanda Shellenberger (W. Soccer) and Angela Tanner (W. Crew). Of that list, both Livingstone and Judnick have perfect 4.00 GPAs in their tenure at LMU. The Lions were the only program with two students with a 4.00, and Livingstone and Judnick were two of only three students in the entire conference that claimed such an honor.

To be considered for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, student-athletes must meet the following requirements:
1) Individuals must have earned a varsity letter in a sport which the conference determined a champion in the just-completed academic year.
2) The cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 must be based on a 4.0 scale.
3) The individuals must have successfully completed an average of at least 12 graded credit hours (i.e. non pass-fail hours) per term.
