Final Honors of 2015-16 Wraps-Up Banner Year
WCC honors 165 LMU with announcement of 15th annual Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
LOS ANGELES - - For the first time in school history, LMU athletics produced a pair of programs that advanced to their respective NCAA Sweet 16. The postseason success of women’s volleyball and women’s soccer highlighted a successful 2015-16 year.
With the conclusion of the 2015-16 academic year, the West Coast Conference announced the final awards of the past year, with the 15th annual WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll, which recognizes student-athletes that have balanced athletic success with academic excellence. All told 165 student-athletes were honored by the WCC.

On the year, the Lions produced 73 all-conference selections, 78 academic all-conference honorees and 205 national scholar student-athletes. The senior class of 2016 saw 81 earn degrees and produced WCC Goalkeeper of the Year Paul Blanchette (men’s soccer), All-Americans Milutin Mitrovic and Ivana Castro (men’s and women’s water polo), and WCC Scholar Athlete of the Year Sterling Shuster (softball).
Seniors played a huge role in the Sweet 16 runs as five seniors earned all-region honors, including Jocelyn Blankenship (women’s soccer), Morgan Hilby (women’s soccer), Rachelle Suaava (women’s volleyball), Callie Taylor (women’s soccer), and Hannah Tedrow (women’s volleyball).
