LionsFund Summer Drive Setting New Records
Fourth Annual LionsFund Summer Drive off to a record start for 2005-06
July 25, 2005
Los Angeles, CA (July 25) - The Fourth Annual LionsFund Summer Drive is once again off to a record-setting start this year as it nears the midpoint of the 5-week campaign. With over $50,000 raised in gifts and pledges during the first two weeks, this year's efforts are on track to set a new Summer Drive record and kick off the new Loyola Marymount University Athletics season with a great start.
The LionsFund Summer Drive was established in 2002 to raise support for LMU Athletics and give the teams an advantage heading into the new season. Led by a volunteer group of nearly 50 alumni, parents, and fans, the Fund Drive serves as a kickoff to the new season for LMU Athletics. By raising gifts and pledges during the summer, the funds can be used to give the student-athletes an edge on the competition heading into the new school year and lead to an even more successful 2005-06 season. Last year's Summer Drive raised a record $78,000 during the month of July, providing the start to a record-breaking year for LionsFund in which nearly $350,000 total was raised in support of the student-athletes at LMU.
No matter which of LMU's teams you are a fan of, gifts to LionsFund are depended upon by each of the University's 17 intercollegiate teams for annual scholarships and operations. Providing resources to assist student-athletes in both the classroom and in competition, LionsFund is an important part of LMU's efforts toward Building Champions.
The 2005 LionsFund Summer Drive runs through Friday, August 12, 2005. If you have not yet made your gift or pledge to the Summer Drive, be sure to join us today by calling (310) 338-2908, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or download the form. Each and every gift makes a difference for our teams and student-athletes, so be sure to join today!
