LionsFund Summer Drive Setting New Records
Third Annual LionsFund Summer Drive off to a record start for 2004-05
July 27, 2004
Los Angeles, CA (July 27) - The Third Annual LionsFund Summer Drive is off to a record-setting start this year as it nears the midpoint of the 5-week campaign. With over $40,000 raised in gifts and pledges during the first two weeks, this year's efforts are on track to reach the $75,000 goal by August 11 and set a new Summer Drive record. The LionsFund Summer Drive was established in 2002 to raise support for LMU Athletics and give the teams an advantage heading into the new season. Led by a volunteer group of nearly 50 alumni, parents, and fans, the Fund Drive serves as a kickoff to the new season for LMU Athletics. By raising gifts and pledges during the summer, the funds can be used to give the student-athletes an edge on the competition heading into the new school year and lead to an even more successful 2004-05 season. No matter which of LMU's teams you are a fan of, gifts to LionsFund are depended upon by each of the University's 17 intercollegiate teams for annual scholarships and operations. Providing resources to assist student-athletes in both the classroom and in competition, LionsFund is an important part of LMU's efforts toward Building Champions. The 2004 LionsFund Summer Drive runs through Friday, August 13, 2004. If you have not yet made your gift or pledge to the Summer Drive, be sure to join us today by calling (310) 338-2908, email email@example.com, or download the form (link at top of page). Each and every gift makes a difference for our teams and student-athletes, so be sure to join today!
