Campus Service Set to Remember Hanson and Bacon

Los Angeles, Calif. - The Loyola Marymount University community has set the memorial service for student-athletes Jessica Hanson (women's soccer) and Adam Bacon (men's cross country) for Wednesday, August 31, at 5:00 p.m. Hanson and Bacon were killed in a car accident on Friday, August 5, while in route to a Lake Havasu vacation with the Hanson family.

With Loyola Marymount students returning to campus for fall classes beginning Monday, August 29, the community memorial service for Hanson and Bacon has been planned for Wednesday, August 31 at 5:00 p.m. University President Rev. Robert B. Lawton, S. J. will preside over the service, which will celebrate the lives of the student-athletes. The community will gather at LMU's Sacred Heart Chapel.

A memorial service for Bacon was held Thursday, August 11, near his hometown of Middletown, Rhode Island. The Bacon family has asked that donations be made in Adam's memory to the LMU men's cross country program. Click on the link to make a donation.

Funeral arrangements have also been scheduled for Jessica and her father, Kelly Hanson. The service will be Monday, August 22, 2005 at 4:00pm. It will be held at:
