Lions to Play Key Mid-Week Games

Los Angeles, CA (Sept. 20) -- It will be another week of key match-ups for the Loyola Marymount University fall sport teams, including a Monday match-up for women's soccer against Cal State Northridge in their first round game of the season.

Women's soccer, who is 5-2 on the season, will play three games this weekend, including a match-up with the Pac-10's Oregon State in a soccer doubleheader on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 12:00 p.m. The doubleheader will be with the men's soccer team as they take on UC Riverside at 3:00 p.m. Both games will be played at Sullivan Field and can be heard on the Lions' Audio Network.

The men's soccer team is coming off a 0-0 tie with UCLA at the Home Depot Center last Sunday. They will enter the week 1-2-2 and will play their first Sullivan Field home game against Air Force at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22.

More mid-week games are in store for the Lions as the women's volleyball team will take on San Diego State on the road. Fans can listen to the game live on the Lions' Audio Network starting at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Also in action this weekend will be the men's water polo team. Ranked 11th in the nation, the Lions are 7-2 after going 3-1 at the SoCal Tournament this past weekend. All 14 teams in the SoCal Tournament were ranked in the nation's top-20. LMU will take on rival and fifth-ranked Pepperdine Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Burns Recreation and Aquatics Center.

Rounding out the action this weekend will be the cross country team at the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 25 and the men's golf team the Vandal Fall Classic hosted by the University of Idaho.
