Los Angeles, CA (Oct. 17) -- Loyola Marymount University radio station KXLU 88.9 FM Los Angeles, home to LMU Athletics for more than 45 years, kicked off its annual fundraising drive on Friday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. The drive continues 24-hours-a-day for an entire week, and includes the Lions' All-Access Live, the monthly sports talk show that is everything LMU Athletics, on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 6 to 7 p.m. Without the support of KXLU, Lion Athletics would not have a radio home.

Those interested in pledging their support should call the station's pledge line at 310.338.KXLU (5958) any time beginning Oct. 14 through Oct. 21. Your pledge helps support the live broadcasts of LMU basketball. Without listener support men's basketball would not be on live every game. Without listener support women's basketball would not be broadcast. Without listener support Lions' All-Access on the internet would not broadcast more than 150 events a year. KXLU needs your support.

A variety of KXLU premiums will be offered to those making pledges, including KXLU t-shirts, sweatshirts, leisure and work shirts, lunch boxes, beach balls, record bags, pajamas, socks, coasters and an extensive range of CD compilation packs. During Lions' All-Access Live several sports premiums will be available, including season tickets and adidas gear.

To pledge support for the sports premiums listen to Lions' All-Access Live on Oct. 18 and call during the show.

Of the nine NCAA Division-I institutions in the Southern California area, LMU is one of just four to be over the air and the only one to be on an FM station thanks to KXLU. More than 45 years ago KXLU began broadcasting home men's basketball games. Over the years, the station has grown and now boradcasts every men's game, select women's basketball games, baseball games and volleyball games. Three years ago the station added the monthly sports talk show now called Lions' All-Access Live.

Appearing on Lions' All-Access Live on Tuesday will be a lengthy list of representatives from LMU Athletics. Included in the show will be players and/or coaches from men's soccer, women's soccer, women's swimming, men's water polo, men's cross country and women's cross country. The show begins at 6 p.m. with host Jeff Lampe.
