During the 2009-2010 academic year the Student Athlete Advisory Committee put forth many goals to accomplish. One such goal with a high priority was to continue to keep SAAC extremely involved in community outreach programs and to dedicate even more time and athletes than last year to these opportunities.
This year, SAAC has continued efforts at a local beach, which the group adopted two years ago and vowed to keep it clean and pollution free. Several times this semester and next semester, all the athletic teams join together and help in a beach clean-up event to keep our beach trash-free.
In further serving the community at large, SAAC helped with Fright Night, Goods for Good, the Kentwood Elementary Beautification, and the Zappos.com WCC Shoe Drive. SAAC is working strongly to give back and to improve LMU athletics visibility, including interaction within the local community.
