ANAHEIM, Calif. - On Sunday and Monday, March 18-19, the LMU cheerleading team competed at the USA Collegiate Nationals at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The Lion squad competed in the small co-ed (1-4 males) division, which consisted of 11 collegiate teams this year including BYU, Boise State, Buffalo, Humboldt State, Long Beach State, Grand Canyon, Great Falls Argos, UC San Diego, Menlo, Idaho State and LMU.
Sunday's preliminary round counted towards 40 percent of each team's final score while Monday's finals round was 60 percent.
Junior co-captains Kelsey Gray and Nicole Stadell echoed the same comments when asked about the opportunity to compete at the prestigious event. "We worked really hard to be able to go. It was a team building experience and definitely a good foundation for rebuilding the competitive aspect of our team."
