LOS ANGELES - The LMU women's rowing 2013 season culminates on Saturday, May 18 as the Lions head to Gold River, Calif., for the West Coast Conference Rowing Championship held at the CSUS Aquatic Center on Lake Natoma.

Racing begins at 9 a.m. with the Varsity Four followed by the Second Varsity Eight launch at 9:20 a.m. and the Varsity Eight at 9:40 a.m.

Last spring, the Lions placed third in the team standings behind champion San Diego and runner-up Gonzaga. LMU took third in the 2V8+ and fourth in both the V4+ and V8+.

The Lions entered this season as the preseason No. 4 in a poll voted on by the WCC's seven head coaches. Gonzaga was the top pick in the preseason poll, followed by San Diego in second and Portland in third. Saint Mary's (5th), Creighton (6th) and Santa Clara (7th) rounded out the voting.

LMU won a head-to-head match-up agains the favored Zags earlier this spring, leading to being named the WCC Crew of the Month for the month of March.
