Dunbar Highlights Five Lions on WCC All-Academic Team
Sophomore Kelsey Dunbar was named to the 2013 West Coast Conference Rowing All-Academic Team while four additional Lions earned honorable mention honors.

LOS ANGELES - Sophomore Kelsey Dunbar was named to the 2013 West Coast Conference Rowing All-Academic Team while four additional Lions earned honorable mention honors, the league office announced Wednesday.
To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing, and prove as a significant contributor to her team.
Dunbar, who also earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete honors, is a sophomore biology major with a 3.87 cumulative GPA. She was a member of the Lions' 2V8+ this spring, which capped the season with a fourth place finish at the WCC Championship. She was also in the 2V8+ boat that placed fourth at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship, fourth at the San Diego Crew Classic and earned gold at the Berg Cup.
Earning recognition on the Honorable Mention team from LMU were P.K. Carey-Jones, Jill Dannis, Paulina Lindstedt and Jen Koester. Carey-Jones is a junior Spanish major with a 3.87 cumulative GPA who split time this season in the Lions' V4+ and 2V8+ boats. Dannis is a senior sociology major who graduated this spring with a 3.29 GPA.
Lindstedt is a sophomore psychology major with a 3.47 GPA who competed in the V8+ this season. Koester, the V8+ coxswain, is a junior communications major with a 3.35 cumulative GPA. Lindstedt and Koester both helped lead LMU to a fourth place finish in the V8+ race at the 2013 WCC Championship and were honored as the WCC Crew of the Month for the month of March.
