Mackenzi Sherman enters her sophomore season with the LMU rowing program in 2013-14..

At LMU...
2012-13...garnered All-WCC honors after guiding LMU to a third-place finish at the WCC Championships...guided the Varsity 8+ to a fourth-place finish at the WCC Championships...competed in the Varsity 8+ lineup...rowed in the Open 4+ at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival, helping the squad to a fourth-place finish and its first victory over USD in six years...helped the Varsity 8+ to a victory over WCC-Champion Gonzaga in a head-to-head on March 15 (7:21.84)...helped defend the Berg Cup with a victory in the Varsity 8+ race...guided the Varsity 8+ to a fourth-place finish in the Grand Final at the San Diego Crew Classic...

Prior to LMU...
Competed with the Long Beach Junior Crew club program during her high school years... SWJR US Rowing Champ in 2009, 2010 and 2012 in the 4x, 2x and 1x... US Rowing National Team member in 2011 and 2012... US Rowing Junior National Championships competitor in 2011 and 2012... placed fourth in the 4x at both the 2011 US Rowing Youth Nationals and 2011 FISA World Junior Rowing Championships... sixth-place finish at the 2012 World Rowing Championships in the junior 2x... academic honors at Hope Christian Academy include being named an Athlete Scholar, BETA Club International, Association of Christian School's International Superior AWards in creative writing and art...

Mackenzie L. Sherman was born April 12, 1994 in Long Beach, Calif.... parents are Patti and Vaughn Sherman... has one younger sister, Taylor... has volunteered with the National Beta Club, Feed the Hungry and the Orange County Public Library (2006-10)... also considered attending, and was recruited by Washington State, Stanford, Minnesota, Michigan, Yale, UCLA, among others... chose LMU because of the small class sizes, the personal interest the professors have in their students and the beautiful campus... majoring in athletic training...
