Lions Sweep 2014 Berg Cup
The LMU women's rowing program swept the competition at the 2014 Berg Cup.

The LMU women's rowing program won its third consecutive Berg Cup on Saturday, sweeping the four races at the 2014 Berg Cup hosted by Orange Coast College in Newport Beach.
The Lions claimed victories in the varsity 8+, second varsity 8+, varsity 4+ and JV 4+. The Lions edged UC Santa Barbara in a close varsity 8+ race, finishing in 6:35.9 ahead of the Gauchos at 6:36.3.
LMU posted more convincing victories in the final three races of the day. The Lions finished first in the second varsity 8+ race with a time of 6:45.5, followed by UCSB (6:56.2), UCI (7:09.8), OCC (7:13.8) and Long Beach State (7:38.1).
Both the varsity 4 and JV 4 races were decided by around five seconds, as LMU earned the victory in the varsity race with a time of 8:45.4 ahead of Long Beach State at 8:50.2. The Lions defeated OCC in the JV 4 with a mark of 7:33.
In other competition, LMU men's rowing competed at the Newport Regatta, winning the varsity 4 and novice 4 races. The men easily outdistanced the competition in both races, winning the varsity 4 race by 14 seconds and the novice 4 race by 12 seconds.
LMU will return to action on April 5 when it competes at the San Diego Crew Classic.
