Lions Qualify For Petite Final in Women's Varsity 8
LMU reached the Petite Final in the women's Varsity 8, and the third final in the men's collegiate Varsity 8 and second women's Varsity 8.

The LMU rowing team reached the Petite Final in the women's Varsity 8 on Sunday at the San Diego Crew Classic being held in Mission Bay. The Lions also qualified for the third final in the men's collegiate varsity 8 and second women's varsity 8.
Competing in the `A' preliminary, LMU's women's Varsity 8 pulled a 7:13.73 to finish seventh in the heat and qualify for the Petite Final. There, the Lions posted a time of 7:08.25 to claim second in the race behind Old Dominion (7:04.36).
LMU's second Varsity 8 on the women's side recorded a time of 7:15.31 in the `B' preliminary, eventually earning a spot in the third final. The Lions finished the final in fifth place with a time of 7:42.69.
On the men's side, LMU's Varsity 8 qualified for the third final with a preliminary mark of 6:45.34. In the final, the Lions placed fifth with a time of 6:54.19. Competing in the collegiate lightweight race, LMU managed a 7:08.95 in the preliminary before finishing sixth in the final with a time of 7:24.40.
The Lions will take a break from competition for the next few weeks, returning to action on April 26 and 27 at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships.
