The LMU women's rowing 2014 season culminates on Saturday, May 17 as the Lions head to Gold River, Calif., for the West Coast Conference Rowing Championship held at the CSUS Aquatic Center on Lake Natoma.

Racing begins at 9 a.m. with the Varsity Four followed by the Second Varsity Eight launch at 9:20 a.m. and the Varsity Eight at 9:40 a.m.

Last spring, the Lions placed tied for third in the team standings behind champion Gonzaga and runner-up San Diego. LMU took fifth in the V4+ and fourth in both the V8+ and 2V8+.

The Lions entered this season as the preseason No. 3 in a poll voted on by the WCC's head coaches. Gonzaga was the top pick in the preseason poll, followed by San Diego in second. Saint Mary's (4th), Portland (5th), Creighton (6th) and Santa Clara (7th) rounded out the voting.
