Alumni BBQ Highlights Full Slate For Lion Athletics
Six home contests plus team alumni events surround largest alumni gathering of the year at LMU, the 60th Annual LMU Alumni BBQ.

LOS ANGELES -- On Sunday, Sept. 22, LMU will host the 60th Annual Alumni BBQ, the largest alumni gathering of the year. And with it, comes a busy extended weekend for LMU Athletics, including six home games in four days that will culminate on Alumni BBQ Sunday.
The Alumni BBQ begins at 11 am on Sunday and will include the annual LMU Athletics Spirit Sale, which includes official team gear and merchandise. The LMU Bookstore will also have a tent and Iggy will be floating around for photos. Enjoy live musical performances by the The LMU Athletics Pep Band and The Back Pages featuring Dean Scheibel.
Attendees can also check out the LMU Magazine Booth, participate in family-friendly activities for all ages, donate to the Alumni Canned Food Drive, play bocce ball, volleyball, cornhole and carnival games in Sunken Garden, reconnect with friends and enjoy refreshments at the Latino Alumni Association Margarita Tent, African American Alumni Association Ice Cream Tent, and MBA Alumni Association Water and Soda Tent, and visit special exhibits at the William H. The extended weekend begins on Thursday, Sept. 19 as West Coast Conference play officially begins with women's volleyball hosting rival San Francisco at 7 pm. The Lions will complete opening weekend of WCC play with Santa Clara on Saturday at 12 noon.
Men's and women's soccer return home from two weeks on the road, hosting a pair of doubleheaders. It starts on Friday with the men when they host Sacramento State at 4 pm, followed by the women when they host UC Irvine at 7 pm for their first game under the lights.
On Sunday the weekend will culminate with the Alumni BBQ starting at 11 am in the Sunken Garden along with a special soccer doubleheader. Men's soccer will take on UC Davis at 1 pm, followed by the ROAR match-up of the weekend as women's soccer takes on ranked-UCLA at 4 pm. Those attending the BBQ get into the games free on Sunday with their BBQ name tag.
In addition to the activities in and around the BBQ, women's soccer will host a Your Night Under the Lights presented by the Lions' Athletic Fund on Friday at 5:30 pm. LMU Rowing and the Lions' Rowing Association will also host an alumni event, the Fall Fiasco on the morning prior to the Alumni BBQ at Ballona Creek in Marina de Rey starting at 7:30 am. Rounding out the activities will be LMU Tennis as they host an alumni gathering at the Lions Athletic Center on Saturday at 4:30 pm.
