Triton Invite Ahead for Track

LMU will run in the annual meet in La Jolla this Saturday.

Briefly... Dan Smith is in his third season with LMU Cross Country and Track & Field...

At LMU... 2011-12... in cross-country, ran a season best in the 8k of 26:51.7 at UC Riverside Invitational, beating previous season best... ran a close second best of 26:52.9 at Titan Invitational... came in 40th at Vanguard Invitational... on the track, ran a personal-best 15:48.41 in the 5000m at the Oxy Invite... established a PR at the UCI Spring Break Invite, running a 9:12.02 in the 3000m... set another PR in the 800m at the Triton Invite in 1:59.88...

At LMU... 2010-11... ran two races for the Lions... ran a season best 27:51.7 in 8k at UC Riverside Invitational... in track, finished 12th at the Spring Break Invitational with a time of 4:14.09 in the 1500m... ran season-best time in the 1500m in 4:09.37 at the Oxy Invitational...

High School... part of a Pac 7 League Championship team...

Personal... Daniel James Smith was born on May 30, 1992 in Santa Maria, CA... he is the son of Emily and John... he has an younger sister Annie... a psychology major.
