At LMU... 2009-10... in track, qualified individually for NCAA West Regional Championships in the 10k... ran 34:59 for the 10k at the Mt. Sac Relays... set personal records of 4:34 in the 1500m and 10:04 in the 3k...in cross country, was a top three finisher for the Lions all season... nominated for LMU most improved athlete of the year... set a personal record in both the 5k and 6k this season... ran a 17:25 at the UC Riverside Invitational finishing 11^th overall... placed 31^st at the Stanford Invitational finishing in 21:48 for the 6k distance and helping the Lions to their best team finish in school history... placed 11^th at WCC Championships helping LMU to a second place overall finish...

At LMU... 2008-09... ... in track, ran a 4:47.13 in the 1,500 meters on April 4... had the top time on the team in the 3,000 meters, running a 10:09.15 at the West Coast Track Challenge on February 28... had the second-best time on the team in the 5,000 meters at 16:53.35...in cross country, competed in six races for the Lions... ran her best time in the final race of the season, clocking an 18:17.5 at the Cal State Fullerton Titan Invitational to claim third overall... guided the Lions to the first-place finish at that meet... turned-in a time of 23:46 on September 27 at the Stanford Invitational... in track, ran a 4:47.13 in the 1,500 meters on April 4... had the top time on the team in the 3,000 meters, running a 10:09.15 at the West Coast Track Challenge on February 28... had the second-best time on the team in the 5,000 meters at 16:53.35...

High School... a 2008 graduate of Shafter High School in Shafter, CA... ran cross country for Coach Terry Lewis... served as captain of her team her junior year...All-Area her junior and senior seasons... all league her junior and senior seasons...

Personal... Cassandra L. Salazar was born July 12, 1990, in Bakersfield, CA... daughter of Katherine Juarez and Joe Salazar... she has four brothers and one sister... her father played football and wrestled at Bakersfield College as did her brother Jeff, while brother Joe played football as well... a sociology and Spanish double major...
