SEATTLE, Wash. - Tara Erdmann continues to step up when championships are at reach.  Erdmann ran 9:08.85 in the 3000 meters at the UW Final Qualifier to automatically qualify for the NCAA National Championships, her eighth trip to nationals.

Erdmann's time of 9:08.85 was her personal record in the 3000m. She posted the second-fastest finish in the 3000m at the meet, trailing Aisling Cuffe of Stanford who eclipsed the meet record, by only 1.06 seconds. Erdmann finished a second under the NCAA automatic qualifying time of 9:10. She beat her time of previous best time, set a month ago at the Dempsey Indoor Track, by nearly four seconds.

Erdmann will run for a national title next week at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships held in Nampa, Ind. Friday, Mar. 9 and Saturday, Mar. 10.
