Lions Complete Strong Weekend at Occidental Distance Carnival, Northridge Relays
LMU competed at the Occidental Distance Carnival and the Northridge Relays over the weekend.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - LMU completed a strong weekend on the track after competing at the Occidental Distance Carnival on Friday and the Cal State Northridge Relays on Saturday.
At Friday's Occidental Distance Carnival, freshman Tara Erdmann turned in a time of 17:04.16 to claim third overall in the 5000 meter run. Junior Abby Fall also competed in the race, taking fifth with a mark of 17:10.90. Senior Brittany Rezowalli finished 16th over the 5000 meters in 18:00.82. Sophomore Brooke Lademan took home 26th in 19:04.17 and freshman Brenn Donnelly crossed in 19:09.16 for 29th overall. Junior Ahnie Draper rounded-out the Lion runners in the race, finishing 37th in 19:52.41.
In the men's 5000 meter, junior Trevor Wiseman led the pack of Lions in 14:59.43 to claim third overall. Sophomore Brian McDonald was just behind Wiseman, claiming sixth in 15:06.01. Senior Jonathan MacNeil claimed eighth overall in 15:11.23, while freshman Scott Donahue and junior Sean Sisk placed 17th and 18th in 15:26.04 and 15:26.75, respectively. Sophomore Paul Beckwith closed the Top-25 for LMU, taking 24th in 15:38.10.
The Lions put two runners in the 3000 meter steeplechase, led by freshman Connor Pastoor who finished ninth overall in 10:00.11. Fellow freshman, Jacques Delouche, crossed the line in 10:46.04 for LMU, claiming 16th.
In the third event on Saturday at the Northridge relays (400 meter hurdles), freshman Matt Duncan took home 18th overall in a time of 59.39.
Sophomore Jon Hornberger finished 29th in the men's 100 meter dash, turning in a time of 11.51. On the women's side, freshman Keyanna Adger crossed the finish line in 12.97 to place 19th in the women's 100 meter dash.
Senior Laura Mickelson ran in the 1500 meter, taking ninth overall in 4:49.79. Also running in the event, junior Caitlin Jennings crossed the line in 5:12.16 to finish 20th. Sophomore Megan Lynch and senior Kristina Fernandez finished 22nd and 23rd, respectively, turning in times of 5:17.99 and 5:20.14.
Junior Adam Stebbins, the lone LMU runner in the 400 meter dash, finished the race in 50.58 to take 18th. Almeida hit the track once again in event 22, the men's 800 meter. The native of Arcadia, Calif. finished the race in 2:03.78 to take home 26th overall. Erdmann was the only female representative from LMU in the women's 800, finishing third and just behind the second-place runner in the race at 2:16.27. LA Valley's Mekka White-Edwards crossed in 2:16.24 to claim second.
Sophomore Julius Jones participated in the 200 meter dash, finishing 37th in 27.73. Sophomore Keyon Mitchell represented LMU in the men's long jump competition, turning in a jump of 21'9.50" to take fifth. Sophomore Gabrielle Hybki placed third in the women's high jump, clearing the bar at 4'9".
The Lions will return to action on March 28 and 29 when they participate at the Arizona State Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
