Laura Mickelson Breaks 5k LMU Record At The Stanford Invite
Three Lions represent LMU among the nation's best.

Palo Alto, Calif. - The Loyola Marymount women's track team took three athletes to compete against the nations elite at the Stanford Invitational. All three women competed in the fourth heat of 5000m on Saturday morning.
In a thrilling race, Laura Mickelson took the lead after 800m and led virtually the entire race until she was passed with a lap to go. However, Laura Mickelson hung tough, finishing second in the heat in a new school-record time of 16:57.69, shaving 18 seconds off the previous mark. Fellow sophomores Sara Mickelson and Brittany Rezowalli had excellent races as well, with Sara Mickelson running 17:21.91 and Rezowalli running 18:07.67, knocking 13 seconds off her previous best.
Next up for the Lion track team is the Johnny Mathis Invitational on April 8th.
