Several Lions Set New PRs in the Pomona-Pitzer Invite

Pomona-Pitzer Invite Results 

CLAREMONT, Calif. -- It was a PR bonanza for LMU in its third trip to the Strehle Track on Saturday. Many Lions broke personal-best times as LMU competed as the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. The first four LMU women to cross the finish line all set new PRs in the race.

In the women's 1500-meter race, sophomore Brittnie Munoz ran time of 4:41.01, new personal record, for 13th place. Junior Caroline Draper ran a 4:46.40, a PR for her, which resulted in 22nd place. Kelly Shogren and Michelle Hickerson finished 32nd and 33th overall, with times of 4:53.09 and 4:53.59, respectively. Both were Shogren and Hickerson's best time in the 1500m. Brieanna Delaney crossed the finish line at 4:59.29 for 49th. Sophomore Laura Delgado ran a 5:06.58 finishing 63rd. A second behind Delgado was fellow sophomore Alyssa Bellia who finished in 5:07.66 for 66th.

The men's 1500m saw Drew Dalton continue his impressive sophomore campaign with a fourth-place finish and a time of 3:55.09. Senior Oran Arms ran a 3:59.68, a season-best time for Arms and 16th overall in the race. Michael Carlone finished 38th with a time of 4:06.57 and set a new PR. Close behind Carlone was Mike Evans who ran a 4:07.62 for 42nd. Sophomore Dan Smith finished 53rd overall in the race, crossing the line in 4:12.02, a season-best. Sterling Lockert ran a 4:13.98, 56th overall. Freshman Andres Lopez recorded a time of 4:19.25 for 67th.


 

 

LMU will compete in the prestigious Mt. San Antonio College Invitational, which will be held from April 19-21 in Walnut, Calif.
