Track Has Good Run in La Jolla
April 30, 2012 LA JOLLA, Calif. -- LMU Track & Field had a successful day at the UCSD Triton Invitational on Saturday, setting new personal records and improving in different events. Sophomore Brittnie Munoz had a seventh-place finish in the 1500m, running a time of 4:46.67. Fellow sophomore Laura Delgado had a time of 4:56.77, establishing a new personal record in the 1500m, for 17th-place overall. In the women's 3000-meter, junior Jessica Mumaugh ran a 10:42.68 for sixth-place in the race. Sophomore Alyssa Bellia finished ninth overall with a time of 10.54.46. Senior Oran Arms and sophomore Dan Smith ran the 800-meters on Saturday. Arms finished in 1:56.71 for 11th, while Smith was close behind crossing at 1:59.88, a new PR, for 20th. Junior Michael Carlone led the Lions in the 1500m, set a new PR with a time of 4:04.02 for 14th-place overall. Sophomore Mike Evans finished 22nd finishing in 4:07.26. Henry Jordan was next for LMU, crossing the finish line at 4:14.38 for 29th. Freshman Andres Lopez ran a 4:17.85 for 30th. Derek Weber set a new PR with a 4:35.66 for 39th. Christian Velasquez finished in 4:48.99 for 41st. Next up for the Lions is the Occidental Invitational this Saturday, May 5 in Eagle Rock, Calif. -GO LIONS-
