LOS ANGELES - Sophomore Kayla de Bondt set an LMU record in the 800m and five other Lions achieved personal record times as most of the LMU men's and women's track teams closed out the 2015 season at the Oxy Invitational Saturday.

de Bondt crushed her previous personal record of 2:12.47 in the 800m and broke Sarah Vitug's (2013) LMU record of 2:11.68 with a 2:09.73 finish Saturday afternoon.

Also setting a big PR for the Lion women was sophomore Lorena Garcia who sliced 21 seconds off her best 5,000m time, placing third in her heat in 17:35.91. Kelli Sugimoto ran a 16:35.63 in the 5k while freshman Madelyn Vorgitch finished in 18:05.54. Alexandra Young was the final Lion woman to race Saturday, finishing the 1,500m run in 5:02.87.

For the men, all four Lions competing in the 5,000m set personal best marks. Junior Brandon Vientos won his heat in 14:39.66, freshman Jack Polerecky took second in his heat in 14:41.84, junior Lance Capel ran his first sub-15-minute 5k (14:57.92) and freshman Harry Loasby clocked in at 15:22.67 in his first collegiate 5k.
