AUSTIN, Texas - The four Lions racing at the 2015 NCAA West Preliminary at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas concluded competition Saturday night.

Danielle Shanahan wrapped up a stellar sophomore campaign with a 16:36.90, 21st-place finish in the 5,000m run. Junior Kelli Sugimoto took 30th in the same event, finishing in 16:52.94.

On Thursday, sophomore Kayla de Bondt took 39th in the 1,500m first round while senior Grace Graham-Zamudio closed out her collegiate career with a 36:19.26, 32nd-place finish in the 10,000m.

While three of the four Lions will return next year, Graham-Zamudio will depart LMU holding the third fastest all-time 10,000m time 34:32.06), fourth fastest 5,000m time (16:19.82), fourth fastest 3,000m time (9:39.50), sixth fastest 1,500m time (4:27.57) and sixth fastest 800m time (2:19.29). All but her PR in the 5k were set during the 2015 season.

The quartet's achievement had marked the third consecutive year, and ninth overall in the 10 years of sponsoring women's track (and since the re-establishment of the men's program), that the Lions have advanced athletes into the postseason. Four qualifiers tied the second most advancing in a season, matching the four that qualified in 2013.
