Erdmann to Race at Husky Classic

Feb. 10, 2011

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The weekend, LMU's track star, Tara Erdmann will kick off her track season at the 2011 Flotrack Husky Classic this Saturday February 12th. Hosted by the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash. at Dempsey Indoor track, Erdmann will be competing in the 3000meter race in the final heat at 4:10pm.

This season Erdmann is already recognized as a top contender and a force to be reckoned with. Entered in the 3000m, she will be up against some of the top competition racing in the fastest heat of the day. Currently Erdmann holds the school record in the 3000k for indoors with 9:19.69. Last season, Erdmann just missed qualifying got NCAA Indoor Nationals with time. At the 2010 Husky Classic Erdmann ran 9:31 for the 3k and then just three weeks later dropped to 9:19 for a personal best and the school record.

While an early season race for Erdmann, who is coming off a late Cross Country season, she will be up against some top competition from across the nation. Already an All-American in both Cross Country and the 10k for Track, Erdmann will be one to beat this weekend and have an opportunity to get her racing legs back in gear for the spring.
