Cross country runners at LMU have another reason to smile-their spring program has now been officially sanctioned by the NCAA as an official track program, making them the 19th and 20th sports program here at Loyola.
"We are in a unique situation now. I do not want to discriminate against non-distance runners, but most people have an image in their minds when they hear track," said Head Coach Guerrero. "But we will not reach the traditional image of track and field events yet. We are still going to maintain our focus on distance runners."
