Last Time on the Track -The Loyola Marymount men's and women's track teams posted three personal-records at the Triton Invitational on Saturday.

The Lion women kicked the meet off in the 1500m with a personal-record performance. Junior Melani Hom improved upon her personal best by five seconds when she ran 4:45.51 to place third in her heat and 11th overall. Also competing was sophomore Brittany Rezowalli, running a respectable time of 5:01.48.

Next up for the Lions was the men's 1500m, where Mo Elmi and Drew Haberkorn both ran strong races. Elmi and Haberkorn barely missed out on setting personal-records when they ran 4:07.52 and 4:08.54 to place 11th and 12th in their heat respectively. Also competing for Lions was freshman Anthony Gutierrez, who ran 4:19.02.

The men's 400m was next on the track for the Lions. Adam Stebbins ran 52.26 to win his heat again.

The final event for the Lions was the men's 5000m. In the first heat, freshman Trevor Wiseman flirted with the school-record of 15:21.36, falling just short in a stellar time of 15:26.0. In the second heat, Elmi ran a gutsy race, taking the lead with 600m to go, but was out-leaned at the finish. Elmi's time of 15:40.46 was a huge 29 second personal-record for him.

Last Year - The Lions will be competing in the Steve Scott and Payton Jordan Invitationals for the first time.
