Irvine, Calif. - The Loyola Marymount men's track team took four athletes to compete in the Steve Scott Invitational hosted by UC Irvine.
The first event on the track was the men's 400m, which started the record breaking day. Freshman Adam Stebbins ran a time of 50.87 to place third in his heat and break his own school record of 51.36, which he set on the very same track five weeks prior.
Next up for the Lions was the men's 1500m, where Trevor Wiseman capped off a stellar freshman season by winning his heat and breaking the school record in the process. His time of 4:03.13 bettered the school record time of 4:05.64 set by Reynaldo Barrera on the same track five weeks before. Also in the same heat was Barrera, who finished ninth in a time of 4:12.53.
The final event on the track for the Lions was the men's 5000m. Mo Elmi was the lone Lion athlete, but he held his own taking the lead early on in the race. Elmi finished sixth in a time of 15:48.54.
Next up for the Lion track team is the Occidental Invitational on May 13th.
