The LMU track team will head across LA to Occidental College to compete this weekend with hopes of more Success

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - This Saturday the Lions will hit the track again for the Occidental Invitational in Eagle Rock, California hosted by Occidental College. The Lions will see competition in only distance races this weekend, including the 1500meter and 5000meter races throughout Saturday evening.
For the women, we shall see Cynthia Chiadez, Brieanna Delaney, Caroline Draper, Sheree Shea and Cassandra Salazar in the 5000meter. Both Shea and Salazar will be looking to record another top time as both have already had a stellar performances this season. Salazar had an incredible race in the 10,000meter race while Shea has already broke 17minutes twice for the 5000meters. Brieanna Delaney ran 17:35 at Mt.Sac Relays which is a season best and will be looking to improve that time while teammate Cynthia Chaidez also ran a personal best of 17:46 and is looking for an opportunity to run another fast time. Freshman Caroline Draper broke the 18minute mark earlier this season and will be looking for another sub 18 5000meter performance.
On the men's side we will see competition in both the 1500meters and 5000meters. Oran Arms who has recorded times that place him in the top five all-time this season for the 1500meter will race the 800m this Saturday. Senior Daniel LaCava will also get another shot to set another school record and also a chance to qualify for NCAA regionals in the 1500meters is entered to race the 1500meters again this coming weekend. LaCava ran a 3:50 1500meter last weekend at the UCSD Triton Invitational setting the school record. Freshman Michael Carlone is also racing the 1500meters while Greg Innes and Sterling Lockert will race in the 5000meters with hopes to set personal bests.
