The Lions have had an impressive season of continual improvement and stellar individual performances. Each invitational has brought new school records, personal bests and overall strong competition. As the last regular season invitational, the Lions will be looking to showcase their hard work this season with fast splits this Saturday at Occidental.
The women will be led by sophomore star, Sheree Shea in the 5k. After an impressive 5k, performance at the Stanford Invitation where Shea ran a huge personal best of 16:27, she went on to run 34:02 for the 10k earning her a top-25 national ranking earlier this season, with number-one ranked teammate Tara Erdmann. With these performances, Shea will be looking to have yet another stand out race this weekend. Shea will be leading a top group of Lions in the 5k, who all have recorded personal bests throughout this season. Junior Brieanna Delaney ran 17:17 in her last 5k and sophomore Caroline Draper also ran a personal best in her last race of 17:35. Each will be looking to have strong performances in their last 5k of the season.
