LOS ANGELES, Calif. - This weekend the LMU Track team will travel across the country to the Georgia Tech Invitational for a last tune up before the NCAA Regional Meet. LMU's Tara Erdmann, Cassandra Salazar, Sheree Shea and Greg Innes will gear up for some tough competition as they look to wind up their seasons.
LMU will have athletes in two distances this weekend, the 1500 and 5000meter. Freshman Sheree Shea will be running the 5k; as she has already run a 16:50, she will be trying to move up on the qualifying list for NCAA Regionals. In the 1500 meters, Tara Erdmann and Cassandra Salazar will be looking to get in one last race in before NCAA Regionals. Salazar and Erdmann will be focusing on the long distances (5k and 10k) in their post seasons, so this will be their last speed race at the 1500meter distance. Erdmann was nationally ranked in the 1500meter earlier this season with a 4:26.45 at the Irvine Invitational, so as she has done all season, Erdmann has the talent and potential to compete with the best. Freshman standout Greg Innes will be in the men's 1500meter race as he prepares to race in his final season race at USATF Junior National Championships in June.
