Strum, Shea Head to NCAA Championships
Seniors Weston Strum and Sheree Shea will race for All-American status at the NCAA Championships this week in Eugene, Ore.

LOS ANGELES Sheree Shea and Weston Strum will race for All-American status this week as the senior duo compete for the final time in their Lion uniforms at the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Shea became the third Lion female to advance to the NCAA Championships since the program's inception in 2006. She joined one-time qualifier Laura Mickelson (2006) and three-time qualifier Tara Erdmann (2009-11) after placing eighth in the 10,000m (34:33.16) at the West Preliminary in Fayetteville, Ark., on May 29.
Strum represents the first Lion male to qualify for the NCAA Championships after earning one of the advancing dozen in the 5,000m with his 13:52.00 finish at the West Preliminary on May 31.
Strum's seed time of 13:52.00, which is just shy of his career, and LMU, record of 13:47.28, is the seventh best seed time in the field of 25. Shea's seed time (34:17.53) is 20th in the field of 24 while her career best is 33:53.54.
The women's 10k will conclude action on THursday, June 12 with a 7:15 p.m. (PT) start time. The men's 5k will be the final event on Friday, June 13 with a start time of 6:10 p.m. (PT).
ESPN will provide exclusive coverage of the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships from Eugene, Ore. ESPN3 will carry the first two days on Wednesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12, at 3:55 p.m. PT each day.
