Erdmann's Stellar Season to Continue
June 19, 2010
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Junior All-American, Tara Erdmann will continue an already decorated track season into the summer for the USATF National Championships. Erdmann will race the 10,000meters this next week in Des Moines, and then represent team USA in the 5000meters in the Under-23 NACAC (North American, Central American, Caribbean) Championships in July. Just last week, Erdmann placed 6th at the NCAA track and field championships to garner All-American honors, the first ever for an LMU female track and field athlete. This season Erdmann set four school records, has been nationally ranked in all four distances (1500m, 3000m, 5k, 10k), placed in the top five at NCAA west regional Championships and become and All-American with a 6th place finish at NCAA Nationals. With this resume, Erdmann is regarded as one of the best distance athletes in the nation. As one of the few west coast athletes invited to represent the USA in the under-23 NACAC (North American, Central American, Caribbean) Championships in July, Erdmann will be part of a USA team including athletes from historically prestigious track programs such as Kansas, Florida State, Clemson, Miami, Arizona State and West Virginia. From the west coast Nicole Blood of Oregon will join Erdmann to represent the USA in the 5k. Erdmann is the only athlete from the West Coast Conference from the men or women's team to be invited to the USA Track and Field Championships and will be in elite company. Women's Team
