Stemm has helped guide the Lions to top-four finishes in the WCC during her time at LMU, including second place finishes for the men and women in 2009-10. Stemm was previously a volunteer assistant who balanced teaching Health at Culver City High School and coaching at LMU before becoming a full-time coach.
Stemm had an impressive cross-country and track career at William & Mary College in Williamsburg, VA. In cross-country, she helped her team place in the top twenty at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in 1997 and 1998. In addition, she helped the Tribe win the Colonial Athletic Association team championship three years in a row from 1996-1998, and earned USTFCCCA Team Academic All-American honors for two years. On the track, Stemm qualified for NCAAs in the 1500m with a 4:23 in 2000. Stemm holds the Freshman Outdoor Record in the 800m, having run 2:13.40 in 1997. She frequently ran as the anchor for William & Mary's relay teams and holds the school record for the indoor 4x800 relay, outdoor 4x800 relay, 4x1500 relay and the Distance Medley relay.
As a post-collegiate runner, Stemm was a two-time USA Track & Field Championships qualifier in the indoor mile and outdoor 3k steeplechase. Her post-collegiate personal bests were 2:07 (800m), 4:21 (1500m), 4:47 (mile), 10:27 (steeplechase), and 17:05 (5000m). Stemm is now 100 percent devoted to coaching and helping the LMU cross country and track teams continue to improve.
Stemm is from Fayetteville, New York, a 1996 graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, seven-time consecutive winners of the Nike Cross Country Nationals from 2006-2012. When Stemm joined the team, Fayetteville-Manlius only had six members. By the time she graduated, the team had at least 45 members and was second in the state of New York.
Her personal goal is to help Coach Guerrero and the LMU Cross Country & Track team continue to improve and accomplish its major goals: winning the WCC Championship, qualifying as a team for the NCAA Cross Country Championships and helping individual runners qualify for the NCAA Track & Field Championships.
Stemm has a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a single subject Health teaching credential.
