Caroline Gecker joined the LMU cross country and track coaching staff in the fall of 2014 after concluding her collegiate career in a Lion uniform in the spring of 2014.
As a Lion competitor, Gecker ran a 5k personal best time of 18:41.5 at the Titan Invitational in the fall of 2013. On the track she recorded best times of 5:08.67 in the 1,500m at the Pomona Pitzer Invitational, 10:57.00 in the 3,000m at the West Coast Quadrangular and 19:10.89 in the 5,000m at the Ben Brown Invitational.
Gecker earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 2013. She captained the University of Virginia club cross country and track teams for three years, racing to a top 5k time of 18:55. She was named a 2012 National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA) All-American and led the club to the finish as the 2011 NIRCA National runner-ups and 2012 NIRCA National Champs.
Prior to her time at Virginia, Gecker competed in cross country and track for the 2009-10 season at Davidson College.
Gecker hail from RIchmond, Va., where she competed in cross country and track at James River High School. She was a three-year varsity letter winner in cross country and four-year varsity letterwinner in track, serving as her cross country team as a senior and track team as both a junior and senior. In cross country, Gecker was a two-time All-Dominion District League and first-team all-district as a senior. In track, she was a four-time All-Dominion District League selection and first team All-Metro and first team all Central Region as a senior.
Gecker is currently pursuing her masters degree in the LMU School of Film and Television.
