Charles Dewey enters his third season as volunteer assistant coach in 2013-14.
Dewey joined the Lions after a distinguished career at Providence College in Providence, RI. In 2007-08 indoor track, he was a member of the Distance Medley Relay that finished 3rd (9:50.82) at the IC4A Championships. He was also a member of the 4 x 800 meter Relay team that finished 1st (7:38.06) at the New England Championships. Dewey ran on the 4 x 800 meter relay that finished 4th (7:28.60) at the Big East Championships. Dewey won the 500 meter run (1:03.92) at the Harvard Open, placed 1st (49.3) in the 400 meter run at the Fordham Invitational, 1st (1:04.83) in the 500 meter run at the Brown University Alden Invitational.
In outdoor track, Dewey finished 12th in the 800 meters at the IC4A Championships in a personal record time of 1:50.64. He placed 14th at the New England Championships n the 800 meters in a time of 1:55.35. Dewey was a member of the 4 x 800 relay that finished 4th (7:32.82) at the Big East Championships. Individually, he won the 400-meter dash (49.1) at the Quinnipiac Invitational. He finished 6th (1:52.92) in the 800 meters at the Stanford Invitational and placed 1st (49.33) in the 400 meters at the Owl Invitational.
In 2006-2007, on the indoor track, Dewey was a member of the distance medley team who set a new school record (9:36.64) and the 4x400 team that also set a school record (3:21.63) at the New England Championships. He set a school record in the 500 meter prelims (1:03.60) and finished 7th in the finals (1:03.84) at the Big East Championships. Dewey placed 18th in the 400 meter run (48.84) at the Valentine Invitational. He finished 2nd in the 500 meters (1:03.94) at the BU Quad Meet. Dewey set a new school record in the 400 meters with a time of 48.47 at the BU Terrier Invitational. Dewey wrapped up his great season capturing the 400 meters (50.27) at the URI Sorlein Memorial, winning the 500-meter run (1:04.39) at the Harvard Invite, capturing the 500 meters in 1:05.86 at the Brown Alden Invitational, and winning the 500 meters (1:05.60) at the Fordham Opener Invitational.
Dewey is studying film production in the graduate division of LMU's School of Film & Television.
