John Pickhaver is in his first year as a member of the LMU cross country coaching staff after concluding his collegiate career in the spring of 2014. His primary responsibility is recruiting for the men's team.

Pickhaver joined the Lion squad for the 2013-14 season after competing for Villanova for three seasons. During his senior season of cross country, he ran an 8k personal best 24:40.2 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, placed 23rd at the West Coast Conference Championships with a time of 25:01 and placed 88th at the NCAA DI West Regional Championships with a personal best time of 31:42. On the track, Pickhaver closed out his collegiate racing career with best times of 4:03.20 in the 1,500m at the Cal State LA Invite, 8:37.00 in the 3,000m at the West Coast Quadrangular, 14:41.28 in the 5,000m at the West Coast Invitational and 30:53.65 in the 10,000m at the West Coast Last Chance Meet.

Pickhaver competed in cross country and indoor and outdoor track at Villanova for three years before earning his undergraduate degree in political science from in the spring of 2013. He prepped at St. Joseph Prep and won the Philadelphia Catholic League championship in the outdoor 3200 meters as a senior. He was also the individual cross country champion.

Pickhaver is currently pursuing a masters of fine arts degree in film at LMU.
