2003... selected to the WCC All-Academic team after recording a 3.73 cumulative GPA in physics and serving as the Lions' number two runner for much of the season... ran the UC Irvine Invite in 27:24... placed 18th at the Aztec Invite with a time of 28:12... ran the UC Riverside Invite in a season-best 27:08... ran the Stanford Invite in 29:14... time of 27:31 at the WCC Championships is the seventh-best all-time LMU mark at the conference championship... 2002.... was the first LMU runner to cross the line at the San Diego Invitational, the Aztec Invitational, the UC Riverside Invitational, the Bronco Invitational, and the WCC Championships... finished the San Diego Invitational in sixth with a time of 16:56... placed tenth at the Aztec Invitational with a 28:40 mark... had a season-best 8k time of 27:07 and finished 18th at the WCC Championships... finished the CSF Invitational with a 28:02.7 mark... 2001... ran in all six of the Lions' meets... ran a 29:28 8k at the WCC Championships to place 39th...
A 2001 graduate of Don Bosco Tech High School... ran cross country and track... earned varsity letters in both sports... captained both teams his senior year... an All-Camino Real League selection in cross country his sophomore, junior and senior years... team won the state championships two years...
Bernardino Ochoa was born on Sept. 19, 1983 in Los Angeles, CA... the son of Angel and Maria Ochoa... has one brother, Angel... was an assistant cross country coach over the summer... a physics major and a chemistry/math minor.
