LMU Debuts a Partial Squad at Fullerton
The LMU XC Team started off their season today racing a partial squad at the Fullerton Invite.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Lions debuted a partial squad today at the Fullerton Invite in Brea, CA at Carbon Canyon Park. The women placed 4th overall while the men placed 12th. The Lions were led by freshmen in both the men's and women's races.
For the women, freshman Michelle Hickerson led the Lions placing 13th overall and finishing the 6k race in 22:58. Freshman Alyssa Bellia also had a good debut race coming in second for the Lions placing 22nd overall in 23:17. Sophomore Jessica Mumaugh came in next for the Lions placing 28th in 23:38 followed by teammate Brittnie Munoz who placed 29th overall in 23:41. Freshman Laura Delgado finished 45th in 24:06, Kelly Shogren finished 55th in 24:25 and Marissa Diehl finished 83rd in 25:15. Senior Shea Franklin finished in 26:12 in 119th and Jillian Jaccard in 27:10 in 156th. LMU Women finished 4th overall to UCLA, Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton.
On the men's side freshman Mike Evans led the Lions finishing 60th overall in 27:59 for the 8k course. Junior Oran Arms came in next for the Lions in 28:25 finishing 78th overall. Arms was followed by teammate Michael Carlone in 28:51 placing 98th overall. Freshman Henry Jordan also had a strong debut collegiate race in 29:08 with teammates RJ Larrieu close behind in 29:18 and Dan Smith in 29:25. The men placed 12th out 18 teams.
Next up the Lions will run a full team at the UC Riverside Invitational on September 18th.
