FULLERTON, Calif.- LMU Cross Country's men finished 3rd at the highly competitive Titan Invitational held on the campus on Cal State Fullerton. Sophomore Greg Innes and junior Michael Carlone led the Lions finishing within a second of each other for 39th and 40th place, respectively, in the 8k race. The Lions' women, who did not enter in the team competition, were led by sophomore Alyssa Bellia who finished 25th overall with a time of 18:24.2.
Innes set a season-best time with his finish of 25:52.1, while Carlone set a personal-best with his 25.52.9. Freshman Jonathan Miller
ran a 26:04, a personal-best, to cross the line 45th
overall. Red-shirt junior Phillip Benavides
with a 26:26 in the 8k. Freshman Andres Lopez
rounded out the Lions scoring five with 26:40.2 for 64th
overall. LMU finished ahead of WCC competitors Pepperdine and the University of San Diego in the invitational.
For the Lions women, sophomore Kelly Shogren finished 27th overall in the 5k inviational with a time of 18:25.3, a personal-best. Sophomore Laura Delgado ran a 19:15.9 to come in 56th followed by senior Marissa Diehl at 21:28.7.
