Lions Compete at NCAA West Regionals
LMU returned to postseason racing Friday morning.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Competing at the NCAA West Regionals. the LMU men's and women's cross country teams showed strong outings at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex Friday morning.
The men’s team finished 16th overall, marking the team’s highest finish since 2013. Jack Polerecky led the Lions charge with a 58th-place showing in the 8K with a time of 30:46.4. Koby Pederson ticked in at 31:08.9 to finish 71st and Brandon Vientos claimed 81st at 31:35.7. Mat Holton clocked in at 32:08.6 to place 111th and Jacob Heink rounded out LMU's top five with a time of 32:18.7 to take 119th.
Kayla de Bondt posted the top spot for the women at 65th overall, clocking in at 21:02.9 as the women's squad finished 21st overall in the team standings. Marisa Carino followed at 21:57.7, good for 127th and Hannah Wohlenberg came in at 22:04.2 to take 136th. Emily Hubert finished shortly after at 22:07.5, finishing 140th overall and Elena Garcia came in five spots after with a time of 22:12.3.
