LOS ANGELES - Sheree Shea has been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Women's All-Academic team while LMU men's and women's squads earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors.

Shea, who earned her undergraduate degree in finance and is currently pursuing a masters in education, was one of 129 women in Division I who earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for the 2013 cross country season. Honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.25 or greater and must have finished as an All-American or among the 15 finishers (or 10 percent) in their regional meet.

This marked the third such honor for the fifth-year senior who has also earned West Coast Conference All-Academic team honors twice.

USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors went to 217 women's programs and 160 men's programs across the country. The Lion women recorded a 3.36 team GPA while the men came in at 3.29. Programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.00 or greater to qualify for the award.
