Los Angeles, CA (April 11) - Eight senior student-athletes took home top honors during Loyola Marymount University's annual Academic Award Convocation, which recognizes the University's top seniors.

Men's soccer all-conference performer Jeff Kovar was awarded the highest presidential award given to a male senior, the Ignatian Award. Kovar was also given a Presidential Citation and was recognized as a member of Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society.

Women's soccer goalie Autumn Moody was also given the prestigious Presidential Citation. Moody and Kovar were two of just 23 LMU seniors to be recognized by LMU president Father Robert Lawton with the Presidential Citation.

The Presidential Citations are given to seniors who have exemplified the University's mission of service, leadership and academics. LMU then selects one male and one female from the Presidential Citation winners to be awarded the University's top honors, the Ignatian Award for the male and the Marian Award for the female.

Moody was also given recognition for her selection to the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society. Men's soccer defensemen Eric Kim was also honored for his membership to Beta Gamma Sigma.

Women's basketball senior Kate Murray and women's volleyball senior Laura Gustorf were honored by the College of Business Administration for earning the highest grade point average in their field. Murray earned the honor in Management and Gustorf was honored in Marketing. Gustorf and Murray were also honored with Kovar as a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society.

Also earning honors for their role in specific honor society's were: women's crew Jaymie Taylor for Beta Beta Beta Biology Society; and honored in Sigma Xi International Scientific Society were women's cross country's Alie Moody and women's swimming's Lauren Roberts.

Former softball pitcher Corianne Rogalsky, who finished her senior season of eligibility in 2002, was honored for participation in Sigma Xi International Scientific Society.
