The LMU Cross Country team update from Mammoth Lakes, CA
Aug. 27, 2010
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -
In between trekking up mountains, the Loyola Marymount University Cross Country team fit in a speed workout yesterday morning at Shady Rest Park in Mammoth Lakes, CA. Even with the altitude, the Lions looked fit and fast doing speed intervals through the park trails yesterday.
Watch the Lion's video coverage of the workout to get a glimpse of the day in a life of an LMU distance runner. Set in beautiful Shady Rest Park, also hear from top freshmen guys Drew Dalton and Kevin Joerger and on the women's side, catch up with freshmen women Laura Delgado and Kelly Shogren to hear their thoughts about running in Mammoth.
After an exhausting morning workout and ice bath in the creek, the team had a big breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes and omelets at The Stove, home of Mammoth's best breakfast. For the rest of the day, the Lions had team meetings and then enjoyed a day of tye-dying, pool, and charades.
Thursday the Lions hiked to the top of Mammoth Mountain to a height of 11, 035 feet elevation for their final destination run before heading back down to sea level on Friday morning.
